Cherokee County - Charlie Ferguson Community Center

This project was a Davis-Bacon / Section 3 hard-bid lump sum municipal project that was awarded to Pencor Construction.

Initially, the project scope was a complete interior renovation of an existing historical Cherokee Fire Station #9, to be converted into a community center, intended to be handed over to Pea Ridge Community for continued service.  The project evolved into demolition, complete re-design and new ground-up 4,000 SF building construction, with the change in approach due to existing building structural concerns.

The interior was outfitted with a new community room, office, restrooms, warming room and pantry, all with new finishes.  New MEP’s throughout. The exterior was clad in fiber cement siding and the roof received new architectural shingles, and ADA sidewalk/ramp, handrails and front steps were added out front of the building.
